- These blood sucking insects are around 1-2 millimeters long and may look like a dark speck. If you comb your pet with a flea comb and see dark bugs inside it, you’ll know fleas are present.
- Unfortunately, once you see fleas, they’ve probably already started laying eggs, and those eggs mature quickly. In most cases, flea pupae only take two weeks to progress from egg to adult.
- Once they mature, they carry dangerous diseases such as:
- Tularemia
- Flea-borne Typhus
- Tungiansis
- Because of these diseases, it’s important to diligently prevent fleas before they have the opportunity to lay eggs on your property.
